Exhibition Proposal For ISEA 2006

Public intervention/video:
Prier to the ISEA, a few car enthusiasts drive their modified cars on the streets of San Jose while connecting themselves to HBBB system and play their heartbeat (and plays heart rate bent music if they chose to do so) from their car audio. The documentation video of the intervention will be shown at the Installation space.

Installation @ ISEA 2006:
A customized car with heavy-duty car audio system will be parked at the exhibition space. The visitors are invited to try the HBBB system and play their heartbeat from the car audio.

The white wall is adorned with a large decal mural of flame and in the center of the flame is a slowly revolving 22-inch chromed rim. *

Animated flame and other images will be projected on the flame mural and the wheel. The motions of the images are activated by heartbeat.

The documentation video of the Public intervention is played on the large flat screen monitor.

The heart shaped HBBB pendant will be displayed in a display case on a pedestal.

A promotional Music video "Listen to my Heart" performed by the artist will be played at the installation place.

*The wall needs to be white and be able to sustain the weight of the wheel and the motor. A hole (4 to 5 inches diameter, 5 inches depth) needs to be cut out on the wall to accommodate the motor inside of the wall. Another small hole will be cut out to run the power cable inside of the wall.

Installation @ San Jose Grand Prix: This installation is similar to the one at ISEA 2006 except it does not include the wheel on the wall, the flame mural, and the documentation video of the intervention.

Pimp My Heart Party: Five cars are parked outside in circle. Audio systems on the cars will be connected to the HBBB system to play dance music chosen by a DJ. The BPM of the music will be influenced by the heart rate of the participating audiences under the spotlight. The video documentation of the public intervention will be projected. An animated pimped heart will be projected on another screen and moves in sync with the participants' heartbeat.

Drive out to the city (public intervention): A customized car will drive around the city with HBBB system for a few hours. A limited number of guests may be on board as the driver (the owner of the car) permits.
