|Dreaming TV Buddha (TV purifier)|
-A robtic buddha head-

Shown at an exhibit, "Transit 2005" Gallery Yada, Nagoya, Japan
Sep 21 - Sep 25, 2005

"This head of a bodhisattva is preserved fresh in a specimen jar and connected to the TV via audio cable to filter the unwanted bugaboos received by the TV. The buddha takes on the negative effects caused by the bugaboos that sneak into your house through a TV set and neutralizes them for you. It is easy to operate, simply turn the switch on and tune into the channel of your choice. It also doubles as a perfect decoration piece for a peaceful household."

REM (Rapid Eye Movement)

The head is submerged in mineral oil in the specimen jar. The LED eyes grow in the dark and twtich. The audio signal from the TV set influences the motion of the eyes of the buddha.

The random motion of the eyes beneath the buddha's sleepy eye lids emulates REM of the dreaming state.

(Thanks to Ian Ingram and Doug Fritz for the programming. )
